By using some real analysis techniques, we study the structural characteristics of a multi‐parameter Hilbert‐type integral inequality with the hybrid kernel and obtain some equivalent conditions for this inequality. We also consider the operator expression of the equivalent inequalities. The conclusions not only integrate some results of references but also find some new Hilbert‐type integral inequalities with simple form by choosing suitable parameter values.  相似文献

We propose a novel numerical method based on rational spectral collocation and Clenshaw–Curtis quadrature methods together with the “” transformation for pricing European vanilla and butterfly spread options under Merton's jump‐diffusion model. Under certain assumptions, such model leads to a partial integro‐differential equation (PIDE). The differential and integral parts of the PIDE are approximated by the rational spectral collocation and the Clenshaw–Curtis quadrature methods, respectively. The application of spectral collocation method to the PIDE leads to a system of ordinary differential equations, which is solved using the implicit–explicit predictor–corrector (IMEX‐PC) schemes in which the diffusion term is integrated implicitly, whereas the convolution integral, reaction, advection terms are integrated explicitly. Numerical experiments illustrate that our approach is highly accurate and efficient for pricing financial options.Copyright © 2014 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Cell-based biosensors utilize functional changes in cellular response to identify the biological threats in a physiological relevant manner. Cell-based sensors have been used for a wide array of applications including toxicological assessment and drug-screening. In this paper, we utilize DNA arrays to identify differential gene expression events induced by toxin exposure for the purpose of developing a reporter gene assay system compatible with insertion into a cell-based sensor platform. HT29, an intestine epithelial cell line, was used as a cell model to study the cholera toxin (CT)-induced host cell modulation using DNA array analysis. A false positive model was generated from analysis of housekeeping genes in untreated control experiments to characterize our system and to minimize the number of false positives in the data. Threshold probability scores (−3.72), which gives <0.02% false positives for up/down regulation from the false positive model, were used to identify 73 and 25 known genes/expression tag sequences (ESTs) that were up- and down-regulated, respectively, in cells exposed 23 nM of CT. Using quantitative multiplex PCR assay, the gene expression levels for several genes shown to be modulated according to the microarray experiments, such as apolipoprotein D (Apol D), E-cadherin, and cyclin A2, were confirmed. The differential expression of genes encoding cytochrome P450, glutathione transferase (GST), and MGAT2 were noteworthy and consistent with previous studies. Our study provides an approach to analyze cDNA microarray data with defined false positive rates. The utility of cDNA microarray information for the design of cell-based sensor using a reporter gene approach is discussed.  相似文献

Some algebraically explicit analytical solutions are derived for the anisotropic Brinkman model―an improved Darcy model―describing the natural convection in porous media. Besides their important theoretical meaning (for example, in analyzing the non-Darcy and anisotropic effects on the convection), such analytical solutions can be the benchmark solutions that can promote the development of computational heat and mass transfer. Some solutions considering the anisotropic effect of permeability have been given previously by the authors, and this paper gives solutions including the anisotropic effect of thermal conductivity and the effect of heat sources.  相似文献

The development of a numerical scheme for non‐hydrostatic free surface flows is described with the objective of improving the resolution characteristics of existing solution methods. The model uses a high‐order compact finite difference method for spatial discretization on a collocated grid and the standard, explicit, single step, four‐stage, fourth‐order Runge–Kutta method for temporal discretization. The Cartesian coordinate system was used. The model requires the solution of two Poisson equations at each time‐step and tridiagonal matrices for each derivative at each of the four stages in a time‐step. Third‐ and fourth‐order accurate boundaries for the flow variables have been developed including the top non‐hydrostatic pressure boundary. The results demonstrate that numerical dissipation which has been a problem with many similar models that are second‐order accurate is practically eliminated. A high accuracy is obtained for the flow variables including the non‐hydrostatic pressure. The accuracy of the model has been tested in numerical experiments. In all cases where analytical solutions are available, both phase errors and amplitude errors are very small. Copyright © 2006 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献
